TIPS & IDEAS TO HELP YOU LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE

Image
BE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE Being grateful for what you have is one of the best things you can do to lead a positive happy life. If you’re always worried & bothered by what other people have, you’ll never be truly happy.   BE MORE CONFIDENT This is something I’ve struggled with a little in the past although I was good at covering my fears. Now I’m in my mid 40’s my confidence has grown & I’ve trained myself to put myself out of my comfort zone to help with this over the years.   GET MARRIED, START A FAMILY, HAVE KIDS OR WHATEVER IS     RIGHT FOR YOU For me, getting married and having children was something I always dreamed of and it is right for me but, everyone should live their truth and do what’s right for them whether that’s with a partner, having a family, staying single etc.     DO THINGS THAT TAKE YOU OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE Sometimes doing something that takes you out of your comfort zone helps you g...

A WEEKEND IN WINDSOR & HENLEY-ON-THAMES

Image
Windsor is somewhere I’ve been looking forward to visiting for a while and so I decided to book 2 days away on one of the many bank holidays in May for Tony & I along with my parents. Windsor always looks stunning in the sunshine when you see it on TV for Royal events and as luck would have it, we’d chosen two glorious days for our visit.   After a smooth journey down & an easy check in at the hotel we headed straight for Windsor Castle. You must book your tickets ahead as at busy times you definitely won’t get a ticket if you haven’t pre booked. Despite having a set entry time there was still a big queue, but it moved along fairly quickly. The Castle & the grounds are huge, far bigger than I realised and absolutely immaculately groomed. The stone, which is Bagshot Heath Stone, is simply beautiful and so well maintained, it’s extremely hard to believe the Castle is almost 1000 years old.   Inside the Castle is simply astonishing. The collections, of eve...

A BEAUTIFUL DAY AT HIGHCLERE CASTLE

Image
Oh what a perfect day! My parents, Belle & myself are huge Downton Abbey fans & have been wanting to go to visit Highclere. I can safely say it was one of the best days of the summer and we all loved every minute. I’ve watched the series and the films many times and Isabelle & I had another binge watch in the week leading up to our visit to get us in the mood for the wonderful era in which Downton is set. Situated in Newbury, Berkshire, it’s a good 4 hour drive from our village in West Yorkshire but it was most definitely worth it. We were blessed with beautiful weather so when we arrived we took advantage of the outdoor bar and had pimms on the lawn! Our tickets to go inside the house were for 1pm but you can arrive at any time prior to this and enjoy the grounds. We arrived mid morning and enjoyed a wonderful couple of hours exploring the beautiful grounds & gardens and having a spot of lunch. It really is a spectacular place and I definitely did feel l...

20 THINGS MUMS & DAUGHTERS SHOULD DO TOGETHER

Image
I’m utterly blessed to be the mum of a beautiful daughter, my beautiful Isabelle Daisy, or Belle as we call her at home. We’re very close and love to do lots of things together & I love to make memories every year with her. She’s now just turned 18 so obviously she wants to hang out with her friends a lot which I wouldn’t have any other way and she’s also heading off to Uni in September, so it’s now more important than ever to find time to have special times together. I do spoil her but not to the point where she is ungrateful. Isabelle is a very kind, caring and loving girl & is grateful for everything she has and does. Of course she loves clothes, makeup and lovely things but, for her & I it’s the special times and experiences we share that matter the most. Here are some of the things we love to do together.     A CITY BREAK TOGETHER It's always fun to explore a new city and what better way to do it than with mum & daughter. Isabelle and I alwa...

HYDRAFACIAL REVIEW

Image
I have just returned home from a wonderful hour spent at my beauty salon having a hydrafacial. I’ve had this treatment once before, I loved it & intended to have one regularly but life got in the way! However, having just had the treatment again I remember just how much I loved it and really must incorporate this in to my regular beauty routine. This facial is not a zen, relaxing treatment, it’s a facial that focuses on the skin’s health and hydration, hence the name. My skin felt amazing for weeks after the treatment, feeling supple and hydrated. It smooths out fine lines and wrinkles which is really noticeable instantly and the extraction part of the facial is amazing, you’re even shown at the end of the treatment what they have extracted from your skin!!   I had my facial at www.kosmetikoclinic.co.uk and I have taken the following from their website to explain the treatment in full. To summarise, this is the best facial treatment I’ve ever had, the benefits a...
