LUXURIES & GUILTY PLEASURES THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE
‘’NO PLEASURE IS A GUILTY ONE PAST 40’’
I’ve
always loved beautiful things and a touch of luxury in my life and I’ve been
very lucky to experience some wonderful luxuries over the years, especially
during my years dancing on Cruise ships where we had passenger status along
with high discounts on everything on board. Because of this I always had access
to top of the range skincare, fragrances, accessories & fashion and my love
of luxury has continued.
Luxury
can also be about guilty pleasures and now I’m in my mid 40’s I know I work
hard enough to enjoy some little luxuries and guilty pleasures in my downtime.
1. A
delicious Pink G&T
My
tipple of choice at the moment
2. A Crisp
glass of Moet
I’ll
never say no to a delicious glass of fizz
3. Estee
Lauder Makeup
I’ve
worn Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation & their pressed powder since my
wedding day & still love it to this day. I’ve changed my shade over the
years but I still swear by it
4. Elemis Beauty Products
I was
first introduced to Elemis body products when I worked as a dancer on luxury
cruise liners & I loved it. My beautician swears by their skin care and got
me into using it. The cleansing balm is a particular favourite of mine.
5. Neom,
The White Company & Jo Malone Candles
Pure
luxury, pure heaven!
6. Fresh
Flowers each week
Having
fresh flowers in our home makes me happy & I love to fill my home with
seasonal flowers, some of my favourites being daffodils & Peony’s in Spring
and beautiful Gladioli
7. Watching
the soaps
Ok, not
exactly a luxury but definitely my guilty pleasure
8. Designer
Handbags
I
absolutely love my designer handbag collection with my Michael Kors &
D&G handbags being particular favourites. A designer handbag is a big
expense but I adore them.
9. Monthly
manicure, pedicures, brows, hair appointments & facials
Luxury
but I feel it’s important to take care in my appearance & I love to look
after my skin. Regular brow & nail appointments & a shellac manicure
make me feel groomed. Being blonde takes a lot of upkeep so regular visits to
my hairdresser is a necessity.
10. Regular
weekend Mini breaks & holidays
I adore
to travel and always like to have our next holiday booked but I also love mini
breaks in the UK or a city break planned too. It’s always good to have
something to look forward to.
11. A
delicious steak
More
often than not a delicious steak is my entrée of choice when I dine out, I
really can’t resist.
12. Beautiful
Lighting in my home
My
environment is so important to me and definitely affects my mood. I spend a lot
of time ensuring the lighting is stunning in our home as it really can change
the ambience in any room.
13. Gorgeous
cushions & throws
Especially
on a cosy Sunday at home when its cold outside
14. Gorgeous
Pyjamas
Piped
silk ones & luxury fleecy ones are my PJ’s of choice depending on the
occasion
15. Matching
Underwear
Although
its only for you & your partner, if you have matching underwear it makes
your whole outfit feel better. It certainly does for me
16.
Silk pillowcases
Luxury
but also better for haircare as a silk pillowcase is much more delicate on hair
fibres
17. My
monthly Birchbox & Glossybox prescription
I love
my monthly beauty boxes dropping through my letter box. It’s lovely to try new
products & Isabelle usually gets her pick of some of them too.
18.
Woman & Home and Yorkshire life magazines monthly
Although
most things are online now I do still love to read a physical magazine when I’m
relaxing with a coffee & these are two of my favourites.
19. Beautifully
framed photographs of my family
Nothing
else makes me happier than beautiful family pictures in our home
20. A
few new pieces of clothing for my wardrobe each month
Like
most women, I have a wardrobe full of clothes but nothing to wear!!! A bit of
retail therapy for new clothes is good for the soul and wearing a new outfit to
go out in definitely gives me the feel good factor!
‘Luxury,
A quiet contentment that comes from living well & taking pleasure from
one’s surroundings’
Sometimes
it’s the little things in life!
