10 GOALS TO SET YOURSELF IN 2024
The start of a New Year is always a great time to be positive & think ahead about your goals for the year ahead with a clean page & a fresh start.
So why not
ask yourself - How are you going to push yourself harder and realize the goals
you’ve set for yourself? How are you going to prioritise Self Care into your
daily routine? What do your nutrition & fitness goals look like? Here are a
few ideas of goals everyone could set themselves next year. Start now and
you’ll be well on the way to becoming your best self in 2024.
1. BECOME
MORE DISCIPLINED
If you want
to achieve anything this year, you need to become more disciplined. That means
start giving yourself deadlines and sticking to them & avoid procrastinating. Get yourself a 2024 diary
& begin with a monthly overview, marking all your important dates and
deadlines. However, the deadlines mustn’t be too rigid so as to cause yourself
unnecessary stress.
2. TRAVEL
MORE
We only live
once so try to see as much of the world as often as you possibly can. You don’t
need to travel far, you can travel to places you’d never thought of visiting
and still have your mind blown, including in our own beautiful country. Grow and
develop into a more well-rounded person by seeing different perspectives.
Travel not only broadens the mind, but it’ll also help you to relax, unwind,
and see more of the world than you thought possible.
3. TURN YOUR
WEAKNESSES INTO STRENGTHS
Last year
you might have become aware of one weakness that you have, and you’ll need to
take that weakness and turn it around this year. Figure out how to use your
weakness to become a better version of yourself, to do things smarter and to
get ahead.
You might
want to try making a list of all the things you’ve learned about yourself so
far this year & think about how you’re going to build on that and improve
yourself constantly.
4. HAVE A SAVINGS GOAL
This year,
save for something big. Whether it’s a vacation, a designer bag, or a mortgage
downpayment. Make a commitment to yourself and stick to your budget. You’ll be
surprised at what can happen when you commit to it for an entire year and will
be able to treat yourself with what you truly want once the year is over.
5. FOLLOW
YOUR DREAMS
Whatever
your dream might be, this is the year to follow it. Whether it’s starting a
business, learning a skill, putting on a show, follow it and commit yourself to
it fully. This is the only way you’re going to make 2024 matter.
Don’t get
too comfortable in 2024, push yourself hard and constantly try to go for what
you really want. You might want to start the year by making a note of your
goals each month in a goals diary.
6. GET IN
SHAPE
2024 is the
year for getting in the best shape of your life. You might already be there,
but why not step it up a notch in 2024. Follow your fitness goals and stick to
them, because you only get one body and this year should be the year that you
treat it right. Give yourself the love you deserve and look after yourself by
working out and eating right. You’ll thank yourself for it.
7. READ MORE
To help you
develop in 2024, you should always try to read more. Read widely, too, don’t just stick with
one genre. Read biographies, historical fiction, magazines about science. You
need to read as many things as you possibly can. Get some new opinions, read
unpopular opinions, get under the skin of someone you hate. This is a good way
to improve your empathy for others and your conversation skills, too.
8. GO
OFFLINE
We all spend
so much time staring at screens, it’s really important to go offline every so
often. Turn off your WI-FI if you have to. Force yourself to detox from the
internet after work, in the evenings, and sometimes at the weekends.
Step away
from the constant noise and comparison just for a few nights a week and you’ll
feel a lot happier and more relaxed when you switch off and focus on real life.
9. CREATE A
CHAIN
Create a
chain for yourself in 2024 to make sure you actually achieve everything you put
your mind to. There’s a popular method that says if you do one small thing
every single day for 30 minutes, you will be so amazed at the progress you’ll
make. Maybe last year you overcomplicated your goals, maybe you need to take it
back to basics. Work out every day for 30 minutes a day. Write 30 minutes of
your novel a day.
Study a new
language for 30 minutes a day. Committing to one thing every day and creating a
chain will help you smash your goals faster.
10. BE
CONFIDENT
Confidence
is quiet, insecurities are loud – or so they say. In 2024, learn to be more
confident in your own skin. Learn to do things your way and be comfortable with
your own decisions. It takes some time, some quiet reflection, and some trust
in yourself.
Push
yourself to do one thing that scares you this year, this will help build that
confidence up. The more things you do that force you to go out of your comfort
zone, the better.
