TIME TO SPRING CLEAN YOURSELF
So it’s officially Spring!!!!! Yes ok, the weather isn’t officially agreeing with this but, ever the optimist, in my mind Spring has Sprung!!!!
I adore Spring, new beginnings,
lighter nights, a sense of renewal, warmer weather (supposedly), more energy,
longer days & the promise of a new start.
It’s a time to Spring clean our
homes, cars, work to do lists etc but I think it’s also time to Spring clean
yourself & give your mind, body & soul a Spring clean too.
I don’t know about you, but I always
have much more energy at this time of year. It’s easier to get out of bed when
it’s not as cold and the sun shining through the curtains makes me want to get
out of bed earlier and embrace the day.
To me – Spring is the ultimate fresh
start beginning your Spring New Year resolutions as April creeps is a wonderful
way to begin this special season, which begins with YOU!
ENVIRONMENT
When the space around you feels
beautiful, everything else feels better. To begin the personal Spring Clean
first start with your home. A deep Spring clean and a de clutter does wonders
for the mind & soul and adding a few Spring touches such as new candles, a
Spring wreath for your door etc lifts your mood with the new season.
BEAUTY
Pamper yourself ready for Spring. Maybe
it’s a good time to change your makeup and fragrance for spring & summer,
book yourself in for a pedicure ready for exposing your feet. A home facial to
refresh your skin. Anything that gives you a mini glow up and helps you feel
uplifted!
HEALTH
Spring is a good time to take a look
at your diet & health and make some changes. Once the Easter Egg indulgence
is over maybe it’s time to cut down your sugar & alcohol intake and drink
more water daily. I also like to do a supplement overhaul at this time of year
to ensure I’m getting all the vitamins & minerals I need.
EXERCISE
This time of year can make you feel
so much more motivated to exercise and can be a good time to add another form
of exercise into your life such as yoga, Zumba or running now the weather is
improving.
MINDFULNESS
Gratitude, journalling, yoga,
meditation, reading, a walk in the fresh air, new hobbies are all wonderful for
your mental well-being and it’s vital to fit some of these practices into your
life. We all have busy work & family lives and with the stresses of
housework, getting children to & from their school and hobbies, looking
after elderly relatives and everything else we have to pack into our daily
lives, it’s easy to forget our own mental well-being. Even half an hour a day completely
to yourself can help to calm you down and re group. You can’t pour from an
empty cup!
This quote resonates so much. Beauty products, lotions &
potions, exercise, hair & makeup are all wonderful and can give you a sense
of confidence – if you look good you feel good right? However, if you have a
beautiful mind and soul at will shine out of you like sunshine and touch
everyone you meet.
