LIFESTYLE, LEISURE, PLACES & HOME

The Coronation Street Tour – Manchester

Yes I’m a Corrie geek and I’ve wanted to do the tour for ages so, on a cold, grey Sunday I dragged Tony, Isabelle & Max along for a morning on the Corrie set. If you love Coronation Street, or if you just love seeing anything behind the scenes, then this tour is well worth the visit. We had a great guide, plenty of time to see the whole set & take lots of photos. I’m the only one that watches it in my house but we all loved it as it was very interesting & informative.

An adult ticket costs £35 and a child is £32.50. We booked a family ticket which was £119.

BEAUTY, HEALTH & STYLE

Time to Spring clean yourself!

So it’s officially Spring!!!!! Yes ok, the weather isn’t officially agreeing with this but, ever the optimist, in my mind Spring has Sprung!!!!

I adore Spring, new beginnings, lighter nights, a sense of renewal, warmer weather (supposedly), more energy, longer days & the promise of a new start.

It’s a time to Spring clean our homes, cars, work to do lists etc but I think it’s also time to Spring clean yourself & give your mind, body & soul a Spring clean too.

I don’t know about you, but I always have much more energy at this time of year. It’s easier to get out of bed when it’s not as cold and the sun shining through the curtains makes me want to get out of bed earlier and embrace the day.

To me – Spring is the ultimate fresh start, beginning your Spring New Year resolutions as April Springs in, is a wonderful way to begin this special season, which begins with YOU!

RESTAURANT OF THE MONTH

The Woodman, Thunder Bridge, Huddersfield

I’m lucky to live in a gorgeous part of West Yorkshire where we are blessed with stunning local restaurants and pubs. Just a stone’s throw from my home is the fabulous Woodman. A pub, restaurant and wedding venue, The Woodman boasts wonderful food with all ingredients locally sourced and the menu is simply delicious.

Nestled in Thunder Bridge on the outskirts of Huddersfield, it’s surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland areas making it popular with walkers. It’s also dog friendly attracting dog walkers wanting a refreshing break mid walk.

FILM/TV SHOW OF THE MONTH

Last Tango in Halifax

I loved this series the first time around & I’m loving binge watching it again just as much. Beautifully written, a superb cast and lovely seeing lots of familiar local places in my native West Yorkshire.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

Sacred Seasons – Kirsty Gallagher

I wanted to learn more about cyclical living as I always feel very in tune with the seasons. This book helps you with the practice of finding alignment with the cycles and rhythms that are present within our lives. The book teaches you about the wheel of the year and the best moments to pause, reflect & look inwards.

I’ve read the book in full which I found fascinating, and I now intend to use it as a handbook for each season as it suggests.
